Warwick Family (click here to view entire session)

Yesterday evening I had the great pleasure of photographing a beautiful family of wild ones. There is so much spirit, brightness and intelligence in these 3 children. No container could hold it all. Mom, Dad, Grandpa and Nana, I know all treasure them and tire from trying to keep up with them. lol I just have to say they are an adorable set of children, and I really enjoyed capturing this family.

Special thank you to Dane and Brenda for use of their lovely yard and porch, such a treasure of a home in our Spring Hill community. I've adored your place for a while now, and was thrilled to have a chance to photograph this family with such a lovely back ground.
Grandpa, looks like that sweet catch the girls song worked in this shot. Grandson's a smiling! ;o)

Praying Mantis, named Hunter

Yesterday we found a surprise in my Mammoth Marigolds, a very large Praying Mantis. I first took a few unassuming photographs, then called my boys out to meet him. My older son wanted to find him a meal, and caught a grasshopper to place in the flowers to see if "Hunter" newly named garden guest, would take the bait. Turns out he was thrilled with the hopping morsel, and caught him with little effort. Of course my boys enjoyed seeing the grasshoppers head devored! Yuck! they made me take photographs of that too. lol The 2nd image is of that. I have a few more gory images but I figured I would spare the public. ;o)

He has been captured and place inside our old Hermit Crab home. We have told my DS that as soon as he neglects Hunter, that he must be released back into the wild. We'll see how long this little adventure takes. I hope for Hunters sake, the thrill of having him in the house wanes quickly and he can once again go out into the great wild. tee hee

Tiffany Graduation '09 (click here to see all images)

I had a great time yesterday, Tiffany was just a natural in front of the camera. I so enjoyed photographing her. We again landed on a day with a bit more gloominess than I like. We even got caught in a bit of rain more than once. Yet, we had a really good shoot, and I know her online gallery will be amazing as I have already previewed all the images. It's going to be fantastic set for her and her Mom to choose from.

Jenna '09 Grad (click here to go to full album)

I had an enjoyable session on Tuesday with my first '09 Grad for this year. She was so sweet, a really lovely person. Her Mom a big time trooper, suffering with a cold going round, she stuck with us the entire shoot. We sadly lost the sun early into our session, we had both watched the forecast closely, hmmm not feeling the accuracy in the forecaster this day! ha We made the most of it, and didn't let it dampen our determination to get the shots. Here's a preview, her full gallery will be up soon.

Local happenings Jeff Grant performs at Utopia Coffee

Opening act was Seth the proprietor of Utopia, and Nick Milke former employee and good friend. Also performances from Christine (wife of Seth and proprietor),as well as another friend who's name I did not catch. All of them were enjoyable to watch, you felt like home and family on one of those rare nights everyone has a good time, and is brave enough to join in the fun and music.

Friday night, I popped into Utopia Coffee in Spring Hill as I heard the owner, his wife, and a few friends were performing that night. The opening acts were all about fun, and putting yourself out there with unabashed abandon for the sheer joy of it. My girl friends and I found it inspiring as well as fun to watch.
The highlight of the evening was Jeff Grant, the headliner act for the evening. If you haven't heard of Jeff, as I hadn't then your missing out! If you click the title link to this post you'll be taken to his page. He's a song writer/musician among other things.
With a unique perspective on life translates well into his lyrics and musical style. He makes you laugh, feel, ponder, even a little melancholy, for a moment that is. Mostly though, his quick wit and humor, coupled with his modern 'green earth' cynical humor about life, love and friendships, he leaves you highly entertained and cheerful. Which I must say sounds impossible, yet his mastery of the humorous reality lyric leaves you just so. You've found yourself joyfully provoked to finding delight in the reality lyrics he twists to be funny. WHO CAN DO THAT? Jeff Grant!
Thanks Jeff it was a truly great performance, one that I hope I'll have the privilege of seeing again. Let us know when that new CD is ready for sale!
