Here is one of my fav's from my latest shoot with some clients I've known a few years. I was trying out a new location, something not too far from my home, but also easy for clients to find and meet me. I really loved the spots in this area, and all of them seemed to work out just fine. We had excellent light as well, puffy random clouds, and late afternoon to dusk we shot photos. Everyone had a great time, and I got several lovely shots. I know the girls all ended up feeling a bit like super models by lights end. Something you love for a teen girl dealing with school pressures to have. A day where they feel as lovely as they truly are.

Here is my favorite shot from a wedding I was 2nd shooter on this month. I'm really into the photo journalistic wedding style. Not all clients want that exclusively, and I agree. I think a blend of journalistic and traditional images are best for the bride and family. How often is everyone dressed up and happy!? ha So those posed images of all gathered together are wonderful to have as well.

Here the bride has 5 bmaids, and the getting ready process was a bit long. So two were bored, having nothing to do. Yet, this group were really about having a wonderfully happy day. They decided to start running circles around the bride and other bmaids. It was great, didn't last long a couple laps and they were through having had a quick giggle. Yet, the image I caught was so well balanced, with flow and stilled motion, and even numbers of the women. I just felt I had a real lovely shot, that even someone not part of this occasion would want to ponder this moment.

These are the shots that I try to grab, achieve, reach for. It's harder than one might think, yet that is also why I love to be there for events in peoples lives, because the odds of such a capture go way up when you put yourself in the midst of beauty.

This is me. I thought some may feel more comfortable having a face with the site. I've been interested in Photography since the age of 15. I didn't take it seriously until 4 years ago. When my husband bought me a camera that had options to control, then the NYIP course to learn how to take control of those options. That was the beginning. Now I study images, and lighting, other photographers work, all the time. It's a constant learning process, with the digital age learning is a full time job to keep up with all the new idea's and advances in photography. I find it very exciting, and enjoy having a field of interest that has so many places to go with it's art.

The decision to go professional, charge for what I do, was about the need to have more beautiful things to photograph, and to give others what had always mattered so much to myself. Lasting memories through photographs have always been something that keeps your past tangible. To have current images you know your children will also have that connection to their past as well. There are few things that really mean more to me than old photo's, and now the new ones I have to pass on to the next generation. I find images captured moments stilled in time, well that is poetry to me.

In all that, I felt propelled to reach out and give that to others. That is what my photography is about, I don't work full time. I do this part time, so that when I'm on the job for a client my heart is in it. I think you will see that on my site, and in your images from a session with me.

The posts in this blog will be to keep clients up to date on what I've been doing. Courses I've taken, trips I've made. And fun clients I've worked with recently. Enjoy!
